Wednesday's games:
New Hampshire 57, Colgate 54
If the Wildcats are going to beat you, this is usually how they'll do it. UNH connected on exactly 50 percent of its shots from beyond the arc (12-of-24) to down Colgate (2-4) and pick up its second win of the season and snap a three-game losing streak. More importantly, it's a good win over a team with a higher RPI. Tyrece Gibbs netted a game-high 19 points, including two treys in the final two minutes to keep New Hampshire ahead after it was leading for the majority of the game. Tyrone Conley contributed 11 points and Alvin Abreu added 10 while Dane Diliegro spearheaded UNH's rebounding effort with eight. Mike Venezia led the Raiders in scoring with 15 points while the only other Colgate player to net double digits was Ben Jonson, who had 12.
Towson 82, Maryland-Baltimore County 65
This one was ugly for the Retrievers at home, albeit against a much taller Towson team that can shoot from the outside. The Tigers connected on 14-of-25 3-pointers (56 percent) and converted 31 field goals overall to squelch any UMBC comeback bids. Towson's Josh Thornton led all scorers with 21 while Junior Hairston added 19 and Troy Franklin netted 15. For the Retrievers, rookie Chauncey Gilliam had another impressive game, leading his team in points (17) and steals (2). Darryl Proctor was his usual self, hauling in 11 rebounds and scoring 15 points (for his second double-double of the year), but it wasn't enough to overcome Towson's hot shooting. Towson's victory ended UMBC's nine-game winning streak at the RAC Arena in Baltimore.
Thursday's games:
